1 October 2017 - 14 January 2018
Sundays, 2.00 - 4.30pm
Every Sunday throughout the exhibitions families can drop-in to the Drawing Studio and galleries to take part in free, creative and fun activities led by our family artist-in-residence Soofiya Andry. Taking inspiration from our current exhibitions, families will have the opportunity to take part in a series of activities, using graphic design and illustration techniques as an entry point to the works on display. Join us to create new typographies, build structures, produce zines and design murals, using neon colours, geometric patterns and big ideas.
Studio Takeover is suitable for all ages and materials are provided free of charge, but donations are invited.
The space is wheelchair accessible. Please contact us if you have any additional access requirements.
Soofiya is a graphic designer, illustrator and design educator. Their art practice articulates a commentary on gender, race, politics and bodies through a radical social and anarchist approach. Their practice utilises a variety of forms, including but not limited to, zines, book arts, writing, collaborations and workshops to deconstruct narratives. With a love of bright colour, neon aesthetics and big ideas both Soofiya and their work aim to dissent, disrupt and resist.
