5 - 19 August 2018
Sunday 5, 12 & 19 August
10.30am – 4.30pm
During this three-day course participants will gain an in-depth understanding of slip casting techniques. Participants will have the opportunity to create functional ceramic works which will be decorated and fired in our onsite kilns.
Participants will produce moulds in which to cast their works, such as a mug, vase, bowl, plate or jug.
Using the moulds made in the first week, participants will then slip cast pottery ware which they will have the opportunity to decorate using a range of slips and underglazes.
Participants will be taught how to glaze the work they've made during this course using a selection of dipping and brushing glazing techniques.
This course is suitable for those looking to develop their ceramics skills through working on a focused project. No previous ceramics experience is necessary. All materials are provided.
Sevak Zargarian will lead this course. Sevak is a London based ceramic designer maker working from his garden studio, with an aim to create beautiful objects for the home. A graduate from Central Saint Martins and shortlisted for the Homes & Gardens Young Designer Award 2015, Sevak has a passion for material exploration. Read more
