Painting: Material and Form (2)

7 June - 5 July 2018

Thursdays, 2.00 - 4.30pm

This course explores the different material properties of paint: whether acrylic, watercolour, oil or mixed-media, and how paintings can be built in layers, slowly taking on a final form. Drawing on personal subject matter and inspiration from the current exhibition of Sadie Benning’s wall-based panels, participants will explore texture, colour, and layering in a variety of media. This course is suitable for all levels and abilities.

Matthew Krishanu will lead this course. Matthew completed an MA in Fine Art at Central Saint Martins in 2009. He has exhibited nationally and internationally. He is a visiting lecturer at Chelsea College of Arts and teaches painting at the Courtauld Gallery. Read more
