Ceramics for Intermediates (2)

This ceramics course offers an in-depth look at more advanced ceramic techniques. Through discussion and demonstration students will gain a better understanding of finishing ceramic pieces using developed building and decoration techniques. This course is suitable for those with some experience of ceramics who want to extend their knowledge and skills.
The course will be broken down into a series of demonstrations and small practical projects that will include:
• Mould making – press moulds and slip casting
• Glazing and greenware decoration
• Sprig moulds and stencils
Eva Masterman will lead this course. Eva graduated from Kingston University, BA Fine Art in 2008 and has recently completed her MA in ceramics at the Royal College of Art. She works with clay and plaster as a sculptural medium and regularly teaches ceramics and casting. She has recently completed a residency at AIT Tokyo through a partnership with Camden Arts Centre. Concessionary fees are available to attendees who are in receipt of housing and council tax benefits, income support, jobseeker’s allowance or a state pension, full time students with NUS cards or those who are registered as disabled.

As part of the enrolment procedure, all participants must complete a registration form.
Bookings are non-refundable and non-transferable, unless the course is cancelled by the Centre.
Evidence of concessionary status must be shown on the first day of the course.
5 week courses run twice. Please only book a single place on one of the two courses to ensure as many people as possible are able to participate.
