Painting: Mark Making, Surface and Abstraction
14 January - 11 February 2018
This course considers a range of mark making techniques and the painterly effects that can be achieved through varying touch, pressure and speed. Taking inspiration from the exhibitions, participants will use oils, inks and watercolours on a range of surface materials to produce abstract works. This course is suitable for all levels and abilities.
Hannah Hewetson will lead this course. Hannah studied at the Ruskin School of Drawing and Fine Art, Oxford and Glasgow School of Art. She has exhibited in London, Glasgow and Mexico City, and was selected for Creekside Open at APT Gallery and Beep Painting Prize, Swansea. In 2014 she was featured in Thames and Hudson's 100 Painters of Tomorrow. Read more.
