This course offers the opportunity to explore the use of colour in drawing. Participants will work from life models, still life observations and secondary resources to design colour schemes and consider the fundamental principles of colour theory. All materials are provided, and participants will have access to a wide range of media including pencils, pastels and water-soluble drawing tools. This course is suitable for all levels and abilities.
Jake Spicer will lead this course. Jake is a painter, tutor and author of a series of books on drawing; he is Head Tutor at Draw (Brighton) and a co-director of the Drawing Circus. Jake's work focuses on the figure and on using drawing as a means of exploring the visual world.
Concessionary fees are available to attendees who are in receipt of housing and council tax benefits, income support, jobseeker’s allowance or a state pension, full time students with NUS cards or those who are registered as disabled.

As part of the enrolment procedure, all participants must complete a registration form.
Bookings are non-refundable and non-transferable, unless the course is cancelled by the Centre.
Evidence of concessionary status must be shown on the first day of the course.
5 week courses run twice. Please only book a single place on one of the two courses to ensure as many people as possible are able to participate.
