EXHIBITION

Judith Cowan

5 February - 21 March 1993

The exhibition comprises of an installation created especially for Gallery III and a group of new individual works. The installation, entitled water rises in proportion as it drowns you, includes large photographic images of sea water on the walls and floor, and strategically placed cast iron rollers. The disconcerting viewpoint over the swell of water, the sense of depth and absence of horizon, disorientate and threaten. Also using photography and sculptural elements, the individual works, almost baroque in their sensuality, further explore the relationship between rhythm and ground.

Organised by Camden Arts Centre and supported by The Henry Morre Foundation, The Elephant Trust and Tom Bendhem.
