Painting and Drawing - Core Techniques - Camden Art Centre

Painting and Drawing – Core Techniques

This course covers principal painting and drawing techniques, exploring observation, shape, colour and surface.  Introducing a variety of media including pencil, charcoal, acrylics, watercolours and oils, this is an excellent course for beginners and those looking to refresh their painting practice. All materials are provided.

The course is aimed at students who want an introduction to a broad range of drawing and painting media, and to experiment working with new techniques and approaches. The course provides the majority of the subject matter, including working from portraits, self-portraits, still life, and life models.

By the end of the course students will feel more confident using a wide range of media, and will have learnt basic principles of scale, composition, perspective, proportion, and colour mixing.
