Drawing for 12-14s - Camden Art Centre

Drawing for 12-14s

This artist-led course offers young people the opportunity to develop observational skills and draw from life. Taking inspiration from the exhibitions, participants will learn traditional and contemporary approaches to mark making, using a range of materials including pencil, charcoal, and ink. Participants will produce a portfolio of work and have an open studio showcase on the last day of the course.

The course will be broken down into a series of guided drawing sessions and small practical projects that will include:

  • Drawing from life, using a clothed model
  • Observational drawings in our garden, galleries and around the building
  • Still life installations and scenes

Betsy Dadd will lead this course. Drawing as a visual form of thinking is at the root of Betsy’s practice – a process of observing and documenting. She has been shortlisted for the Jerwood Drawing Prize and, since graduating from the RCA in 2013, she has exhibited with Marsden Woo and Flowers Gallery. Read more
