Ceramics for Beginners (2)

Perfect for those starting out in ceramics, participants will learn core techniques such as hand-building, coiling, slab work, modelling, press-moulding and simple decorative techniques using slips, underglazes and glazes. This course is suitable for those with little to no experience of ceramics.

The course will be broken down into a series of demonstrations and small practical projects that will include:

  • Agate clay
  • Building with extrusions
  • Sprig moulding

Alice Foxen will lead this course. Alice is a London based ceramicist who graduated from Brighton University. Alice has exhibited in the UK and internationally and works in education, teaching a variety of ages how to realise their ideas in 3D materials. She has recently completed a residency at the International Ceramics Research Centre in Denmark. Read more
