Art Theory: Landmarks: Place Culture Now - Camden Art Centre

Art Theory: Landmarks: Place Culture Now

This course will explore how and why 'place’, especially non-urban and edgeland landscapes, has become a dominant theme in contemporary cultural and social practice. It looks at the way artistic responses to the theme can be used as advocacy, elegy, and proposal for possible change.

The course will use the Ben Rivers exhibition as a starting point and will also explore a range of key works from art forms including text, moving image, visual media and music. Each week a special guest artist will bring a personal response to the theme.
