Ceramics: Building Portraits - Camden Art Centre

Ceramics: Building Portraits

During this two-day course, participants will explore how to convey the idea of the self within a sculptural ceramic form which may be figurative or abstract; observational or transformative; symbolic or ethereal. Participants will use crank clay to create their piece through coiling, slabbing and laminating layers onto a large scale hollow core. Detail and decoration will be added to the portraits with a variety of surface treatments including slips, oxides, waxes and relief techniques. Participants are encouraged to bring a range of materials from which to start their self-portrait.

No previous experience is necessary.
