Clay for 8-11s: Textiles & Play

Alice Foxen

26 - 29 July 2016

Inspired by the current exhibition Making and Unmaking: An exhibition curated by Duro Olowu, we will think about the material properties of clay to create multifunctional objects. Using a variety of techniques that are influenced by the use of textiles in the show, this four day course will explore ceramics that reflect texture, pattern and narrative. Selected works will be fired for collection after the course and there will be an exhibition on the last day for parents and carers to attend.

Alice Foxen is a London-based ceramicist who graduated from Brighton University with a BA Hons in 3D Material Practice (Wood, Metal, Ceramic and Plastics). Alice has worked on a variety of education workshops with children and young adults and recently completed a residency at the International Ceramics Research Centre in Denmark. Read more.
