The Big Bamboozle / Saturday 16 March

The Big Bamboozle was a raucous celebration of the life and times of Finchley Arkwright-Keslake-Essendine (F.A.K.E.). Camden Arts Centre was transformed into Arkwright-Keslake-Essendine’s 1920s bohemian home, and the garden into her favourite seaside get-away, complete with beach huts and pub. During the day there were family activities, stalls and workshops to enjoy; while the evening’s ticketed party featured special performances and the auction finale in the artist’s exclusive salon.

The Big Bamboozle, in partnership with Outset Contemporary Art Fund and writer Sally O’Reilly, helped the Centre raise crucial funds to support our residency programme. Running for over 22 years, the programme provides unique opportunities for artists, offering them practical support, resulting in new work and public participation.
